Dealing With The Block

I honestly didn't know what to write about for this week's blog. Writing is not something I do as well as I would like, but it is something I have tried to be consistent about. In writing, there's this thing called Writer's Block. It's where your mind can't pick up a flow or you can't figure out which words to put down next. Life has these too.

Inevitably, at some point in your life you will experience a block. A stagnation. When you hit it you find that things just don't go anywhere. It happens in our jobs, our relationships, and in our training. We don't always get to choose when they are going to pop up, but we can choose how we approach them and deal with them.

You see, the biggest thing to keep moving forward is to not stop moving forward in the first place. When you stop, it takes a lot of energy to get things back up and running, and it can leave you tired. So when you encounter some kind of block in life that disrupts progress, the biggest thing to do is to keep moving forward. Even an inch can make a difference. In writer's block, sometimes it's just putting a word after another onto the page until it makes sense. Heck, that is what's happening with this post write now!

We have to move forward. And we have to try to move forward as well. You can't just lay down and give up. You just have to keeping inching forward, and eventually, it will all flow free again.
