THE COACHING
COACHES MONITOR THE GROUP CHAT AND HELP YOU TAILOR THE PROGRAM TO MEET YOUR NEEDS, WORK AROUND INJURIES, AND FIND SUBSTITUTE EXERCISES IN CASE YOU DON'T HAVE CERTAIN EQUIPMENT.
THE SCHEDULE
sTRENGTH WORKOUTS ARE PROGRAMMED FOR mONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND FRIDAYS. RUNNING WORKOUTS ARE SCHEDULED ON TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS, AND SATURDAYS. ALL OF WHICH CAN BE MOVED AROUND TO MEET YOUR SCHEDULE
THIS PROGRAM REQUIRES A STANDARD GYM SETTING, OR A FUNCTIONAL GYM SETTING. AT MINIMUM, YOU NEED A SQUAT RACK, BENCH, BARBELL, AND DUMBBELLS TO COMPLETE THE STRENGTH PROGRAM. sOME ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT MAY BE PROGRAMMED, BUT WILL HAVE SUBSTITUTE EXERCISES PROVIDED IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO DO IT. THERE ARE THREE STRENGTH DAYS PROGRAMMED EACH WEEK, BUT YOU AREN'T REQUIRED TO DO THEM ALL
THE RUNNING PROGRAM
STRUCTURED FOR A VARIETY OF SKILL LEVELS AND ABILITIES, ALL RUNNING WORKOUTS ARE BUILT FOR TIME FRAMES RATHER THAN DISTANCES. THIS ALLOWS THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE RUNNING TO BENEFIT JUST AS MUCH AS THE PERSON WHO IS NEW TO RUNNING. iT ALSO ALLOWS YOU TO ADAPT TO THE TRAINING IF YOU'RE COMBINING STRENGTH AND RUNNING FOR THE FIRST TIME. LIKE THE STRENGTH TRAINING PROGRAM, YOU'RE ALSO NOT REQUIRED TO COMPLETE ALL RUNNING SESSIONS. wE'VE ALSO INCLUDED OPTIONAL CARDIO OR CONDITIONING WORK INTO THE STRENGTH SESSION FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SPICE IT UP A LITTLE.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
wHAT EQUIPMENT DO i NEED?
you need a fairly basic gym setup. Equipment needs include barbells, dumbbells, a squat rack, a bench press station, a medicine ball, a plyo box, and open floor space. It helps to have additional items like a foam roller or Kettlebells, but these are not completely necessary. For anything we program outside of these parameters, we provide "swaps" or substitute exercises that accomplish the same goal.
do i have to do all of the workouts?
no! everyone on the program is starting from a different level of experience or current training status. While there are six workouts a week programmed, most of those on the program complete 4-5 of them based on what their schedule allows
can I move workouts around?
yes. the running and strength workouts are programmed to compliment each other throughout the week. the primary objective is to complete a goal number of workouts for you personally. Then, if complete the goal number of workouts, the goal would be to do them in the order published to "optimize" the program. But we suggest starting with completing workouts based on your own time frame and schedule to begin with.
how far in advance can I see the workouts?
workouts are published on or before the friday prior to the next week. This way you have plenty of time to look ahead at the workouts and ask questions about the program.
How responsive are coaches?
the group chat is monitored twice per day during standard business hours of 8am-6pm EST. If you have questions about program specifics, we encourage you to look ahead at the program and ask those questions so they have time to be answered prior to completing the sessions.
